. . . there is something about this image of these boys that’s incredibly timeless to me.  I’m not sure if it’s the setting, their little haircuts, or the simple fact that it’s a shot of two brothers who clearly share a bond, that isn’t defined by any sort of timeline or decade.  I can only imagine how special this portrait will be to both of them decades from now.  I’m not sure if I prefer it more in color, or black and white, so I decided to show you both   As an only child, I don’t really “know” this “sibling thing” but can already see the love that my big girl has for her baby sister, and hope to someday have a shot of my two, that rivals this one.  It’s one of my favorites images from the fall…and a great example of why “the perfect shot” doesn’t always mean the subject has to be looking at the camera!

. . . let me take a minute to introduce myself!  I have now been here for two months, which no one can quite believe, especially my mommy.  she also never knew that she could love anyone as much as my big sister, and never guessed how much my big sister would love me, right from day 1, but I have proven that both are very possible.  As much as she says she wants me to stay teeny weeny and not change a bit, I know she’s excited to see me grow and who I will become.  (And I’m not quite sure the peach fuzz on my back is going to be so endearing when I’m 12.)  I have a strong resemblance to my daddy’s daddy, and already have mastered raising one eyebrow so I frequently look quite serious.  I have a birthmark on my foot that looks like a heart which is a daily reminder to all how much I’m loved.  I’m chunking up by the day which is great except for the fact that my thighs get squished on a regular basis, and I’m not 100% certain how I feel about that yet.  I’m a really good sleeper (for which my mommy is grateful) but have the uncanny ability to be hungry approximately 5 minutes before it’s time to take my sissy to school or pick her up, go figure. Maybe sleeping longer at night will mean that we won’t have to watch anymore of those ridiculous reality tv shows on bravo in the middle of the night, but I will say I am a bit partial to tabitha takes over.

I’m a very easy-going little baby, which was particularly helpful when moving mommy’s studio; I was part of moving day, trips to City Hall and real estate offices, looking at new spaces, and packing things up, all before I was 3 weeks old!  I have already completely and totally wrapped my daddy around my tiny finger which I think is great because everyone though I was a boy and he’s essentially had to change his dream of seeing me on the football field to visions of pink and green.  Come to think of it, the only person who thought I was a girl was my big sister – I guess we had a connection while I was still in the womb   And speaking of womb, mommy did say to let her clients from 2010, who saw firsthand how she REALLY felt about being pregnant, that I was completely and totally worth every minute of it

I hate to be brief, but mommy needs the computer back – she is still digging out from a crazy fall (apparently this photo gig keeps her pretty busy) and while she’s doing her best to take some time “off” to play with me, anyone that knows her knows she’s not very good at taking time off.  Totally fine with me though, a girl has to nap, right?

. . . what a wardrobe!  Love this little guy (and his Mom & Dad too) and when I saw his outfit for this session I was over the moon, especially in this location!  I photographed him earlier in the year and knew then that he had a wardrobe to rival the most fashionable of the under-2 set. . . . spending a little time in my office while my growing-very-quickly-girl is napping and thought I’d pop over and see if the blog was still here (I thought it may have disappeared from neglect).  It is, and what could make it happier than these 3 little darlings – don’t you think his Mom should make one more since she & her hubby make such delicious children?  Come on, what’s one more? And what Mommy wouldn’t want one of these sweet boys to show up on their doorstep to take their daughter to the prom?  I call dibs for my two …
