time for some fun | annapolis photographer

annapolis photographer . . . as soon as I saw this image as it downloaded off of my card, I decided it had to be shared.  Like, right this minute.  If this little pair doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will!  It’s been a while since we’ve had any fun & games on the blog, so I decided this would be the perfect image for a caption contest.  You can enter two ways…either leave a comment here on the blog (see below to add a comment) or, “like” us on facebook (here’s the link) and comment there.  Either way, we’d love your responses because there are so MANY cute captions that came to mind for me when I was titling this post.  Because I couldn’t decide which one to use, it seemed the perfect time for a little fun.   This Wednesday night, we’ll choose a winner, so we need to have your comments by 9pm for your entry to count!

Oh, and I guess you want to know what you’ll win?  If you’re local, we’ll send you a $50 HC Photography Gift Certificate, and since we know we have readers ALLLLL over the place, if you’re not local we’ll send you something cool.  We love surprises :-)

Let the games begin – I can’t wait to see your comments!

annapolis photographer . . . I could describe how much fun I had with this family.  I don’t know who was more worn out at the end, him, or me, because we BOTH did a lot of running!  I don’t think I’ve mentioned in a while how much I. LOVE. MY. JOB. Maybe if it were more job, and less something-that-I-can’t-seem-to-get-enough-of, the marathon of this season would seem more daunting.  Maybe I would sit at my computer sorting images and be less smiley.  Maybe I wouldn’t drag my poor husband into my office because “YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE THIS FAMILY” a few less times.  Tis the season.  You’ve heard me say it before, and if it’s possible that I am more busy than last year (and I can’t believe it is), I have a love/hate relationship with the fall portrait season.  I love how many families and children I get to see.  I love how much effort all of my Moms (and ok Dads you can have a little credit) put into their wardrobe selections.  I love the excitement and anticipation of clients seeing their galleries and choosing images for their holiday cards.  I love knowing that a LOT of grandparents are going to be happy with portraits of the little people THEY love wrapped up beautifully come December.  I hate that there just aren’t enough hours in the day, and because of THAT little issue, I just LOVE my family even more for their patience and understanding while we get through a crazy couple of months.  It won’t be long before WE are all snuggly, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying OUR fall and holiday season too!

The Odyssey School | baltimore commercial photographer

annapolis photographer . . . I have been SO excited to see this website go live and finally got word that it has!  Last spring, I had the privilege of creating the images for The Odyssey School’s new website, and it was a wonderful experience and I am very proud of the results.  Working together with school administration and the creative team behind the website design, we discussed at length the vision for the images, the site, and the message all should convey and agree that we achieved our goal!  This wonderful school, just outside of Baltimore, serves the needs of children with dyslexia and other language learning differences.  I don’t take the time to share much commercial work here on the blog, but couldn’t resist giving you all a little peek inside of this unique and amazing place.  Thanks to Odyssey for trusting me with your vision!

I hope you enjoyed the weekend off with your girls, and now that you’re back home I hope that you’ve thawed out from our 65 degree Maryland morning, which for us Northerners is just perfect ;-)

Now – for the rest of you – can you stand how cute this baby is?  Don’t you want those shoes?  Don’t you want to squish her little thighs?  There is nothing better than chub-chub on a baby’s thighs, is there?  (Don’t tell, but I might have squished them a couple of times.)  Oh, and Mom’s eyes really are that pretty.

Aside from playing with my own family, there is little I enjoy more than starting a Saturday with a beautifully dressed and fun family at the park!  I can’t wait to see this little girl on the move!

Go BUCS!

happy week!
