. . . what a year it’s been . . . here’s to a great start in 2009. And because you can’t actually “hear” what we heard when I snapped this pic, just imagine Auld Lang Syne . . . I promise it sounds almost the same . . .
I’ll be back in the office soon with lots of blogging to be done – many sessions not posted yet from 2008, fun new happenings in 2009, and who knows what else?

. . . Santa can’t really live without them, and I can’t either. This will be the first of two posts, to introduce you to my little elves, who I not only think the world of on a personal level, but couldn’t possibly have survived this fall and holiday season without them!
Elf #1, is mom to 2 boys, wife to a great hubby, and designer extraordinaire! She is the reason that you had to explain to your husband why you needed to send TWO holiday cards (as in different styles) because you couldn’t decide between your two favorite options. He, of course, talked you out of that, but we both know you wanted to do it. Yup, they were that good. She’s the reason that I have stared out the window, willing the mail truck to arrive, to tear into the boxes to see her album designs in print, and oh-my-goodness, I can’t even describe them. So I won’t, I will post some pics after the holidays. Nikki came on board in the early part of the fall, as I anticipated how nuts things would be, to “help a little” with card & album designs. Uh – huh. wink wink. I, of course, secretly hoping that she would in fact take over the whole kit and kaboodle, which she did, and I was, and still am, grateful. John & CG are too, because they actually got to see me some this fall 
At last tally we were well over a “couple of thousand” 
holiday cards printed, with some (including MINE) still on the way. As she would send over final album cover designs my responses to her were along these lines….”hang on, I just fell out of my chair”….”swoon”….”oh, look, yet another that I have to print a sample of”….”do you think it would be weird if I had this exact album on my own coffee table?”…you get the idea.
She’s the bomb, I can’t thank her enough for ALL of her efforts and hard work and making such a difference and being such an important part of the team. And of course, I tried to take a posey-posey picture of her which is quite ridiculous so instead I will post a picture of her with one of her three loves

. . . Sitting yesterday morning, coffee in hand and reading the paper, I was excited to see a photo of the “completed room!” Saturday’s Capital, featured the The Christmas House, a decorators’ show house located at the Springhill Center for Family Development in Crownsville, as its Home of the Week. Kristin DeMarco, of Lil Lamb Shop, designed a BEAUTIFUL nursery, and featured three of my newborn portraits on the wall over the crib! I saw the room in progress, but from the photograph in The Capital, it looks like the finished product is jaw-dropping! Hey Kristin – want to come over and paint some argyles?
I hope to visit The Christmas Showhouse this week – I am so anxious to see the transformation that each of the designers have created in their rooms! The House is open through December 21, so don’t miss it. Grab a girlfriend, have a nice lunch and go tour the house and be inspired!
. . . We’re getting awfully close to winding things down here…the last of the ordering, packaging, and delivering is on the horizon. I want to share a little mix of the Christmas music I am listening to – keeping my nerves calm and putting me in the spirit for sure. I love Sarah Mclachlan…she has the voice of an angel.
Just pulled up this pic and laughed at loud, because I totally know how she feels. And Moms…you can think of this as a bonus with your family’s portrait session…in addition to beautiful images, your children are worn out when we’re finished (no extra charge !

We are plowing through the last of our holiday orders, album designs, card designs, etc. and getting things packaged and out the door! Thank goodness for caffeine. More posts to come of some of the sessions that haven’t made the blog yet!
