I will never tire of this | annapolis photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . yet another knock-out mommy with her kiddos.  There is just no better sight.  Well, except of course of a Daddy with his kiddos.  Or the whole family.  Or just the kiddos.  Ok, so you get it.  I L.O.V.E. photographing any combination of family members, but as a mother, will always have a special place in my heart for that connection – the unconditional, no matter-how-bad-the-day-is-and-how-much-they-are-on-your-last-nerve love, that a mother has for her babies.  And the obvious love they have for her.  And, if they happen to be beautifully dressed whilst showing me said connection, well, I’m not going to argue.  Here is yet another example of why I do what I do.

apparently… | annapolis photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . every beautiful mommy in the city of Annapolis has my phone number :-)   Here is yet another example.  Her little fella is just celebrating his first birthday, so my “real job” was to showcase this milestone, but big brother was so cute (especially with THAT hat) that I couldn’t help but spend a little time with him too.  Add to the mix their beautiful momma and it made for a really fun morning for me.  And for anyone who’s worked with (or is going to be working with) me, you know I LOVE hats…here are a couple of great reasons why!

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!  This day for me means that there is too much candy in the house.  Add that to the caffeine that is always sitting on my desk, and I hope the result is speedy image preparation because I have A LOT of galleries to get ready!

crocodile kids | severna park photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . .  so it just dawned on me that I don’t know where the store got its name?  Are THESE the little crocodile namesakes or did it come from something else?  Elizabeth, yoo hoo, what’s the scoop?  Well, regardless of all of that, I’m sure we can all imagine what their little wardrobes must look like …LOVE her hat and LOVE the fact that they make vineyard vines for kids – who knew?  There are so many images that I want to post here…but you’ll have to visit the store sometime in the near future to see them!

Sunday morning tv

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . Sunday morning was a LOT of fun!  We didn’t have to get up “too” early, and we arrived at WJZ just in time to see the start of the show.  Jessica & Tim were SO nice, and made things so easy and comfortable for me that my nervousness didn’t last long.  Seeing the inner-workings of the station, and the set was really neat, and different than what I expected.  If you didn’t see the show, here’s a CLIP.  I think that Morning Edition will be part of our Sunday morning routine, of course if we can convince the wee one that it’s more interesting than Elmo & co.

I am frequently asked before a session “what do you want us to do?”  Well, the answer is easy.  Just. Be. You.

my joy.

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . I took a much needed break last week from shooting & editing & delivering galleries & responding to email inquiries & ordering portraits & packaging orders and ALL of the other things that I have been very busy doing, to spend some time at the park with CG doing some of her favorite things. She loooooves the slide, and running around, but when she climbed to the top of the jungle gym, all by herself, and said “yook Mommy! I did it!” well, needless to say I had to go to the car and get the camera. Glad I did because it’s fun to photograph my joy, too. Ok, now back to working on your joy :-)

I’ve got lots to blog this week – events from the weekend, lots of client sessions & more fun stuff!

Go Team!

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . .  Go MIDS!  Go Terps!  Go Herd!  Yes, we are in full swing college football season at our house now, and this is without a doubt the cutest cheerleader I have seen in a while.  Hmmm…I might have to put CG in her Marshall uniform this weekend to go head to head with this little doll.  For those of you who don’t know, my husband played and then coached college football, so Saturdays at our house are pretty predictable these days.  Watching a game here is like this…play happens, in 1.6 seconds he analyzes and verbalizes exactly what happened (good or bad) and then 3 seconds after that the tv announcer repeats exactly what he just said.  It’s kind of weird actually.   Happens literally, every single time.

Ok, back to work.

precious | annapolis photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . There is just something about the sweetness of a little girl at this age, dressed in pink and patent leather shoes.  I could seriously smear her on the top of a cupcake (which, by the way, I say quite frequently about my own little girl).  I love Mom’s idea of Dad in his “work clothes” to contrast her dainty little dress.  My favorite images of her I am saving for her Mom (who is apparently checking the blog at the top and the bottom of the hour for updates ;-) ) and I can promise her, THOSE will be worth every minute of the wait.  In the meantime, this will hold you over until you see the rest of your beautiful family’s gallery!

I’m so excited! | maryland photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . I have a little bit of news to share!  This Sunday, October 26th, I have been invited to appear on the WJZ-TV morning show!  WJZ channel 13, is the Baltimore CBS affiliate, and I’ll be spending a few minutes chatting with anchor Jessica Kartalija about my work and what I do!  The segment is scheduled to air between 8:30 and 9:00 am on Sunday (check back in case there is an update), and I hope to be able to upload a link afterwards, for my readers and clients who aren’t in our local viewing area.  That is, of course, unless I pull a Cindy Brady and see the little red light blinking on the camera and freeze :)   I’m sure some of you remember that episode!

Hope you can tune in!  And how about this little fella?  Of course, I must tell you that his excitement has nothing to do with my tv appearance, and ALL about the oreo cookies that we gave him just a moment before the shutter clicked! Love this image!

seeing double…again | maryland photographer twins

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . yup…another set of twins!  This time girls!  I know you’re wondering where more shots of those sweet little boys are, but I’ve been waiting to photograph THIS session, so that I can display images of BOTH sets at the same time.  Why?  Well, because they are first COUSINS!  I’m not kidding.  More images and their whole story coming soon…but in the meantime, since I think this Mom is, well, a “little” excited to see just one, here you go.  I can wait for these sisters to see ALL of their children’s beautiful images!
