a little bit more fine print. The contest ends at 11:59 PM on Halloween – October 31st! I had originally intended to announce the winner then, but with the extension I want to make sure we have plenty of time for voting! So, the fancy schmancy polling software knows that it ends at 11:59 PM, so there won’t be any extension requests granted!
So, the big winner will be announced on November 1st – after a big night of revelry combing the neighborhood for chocolate!
This has been a really fun thing for me – I hope you all enjoyed it too and may the best pumpkin win!
(oh, and have you figured out yet, that you can only vote once from your computer. hee hee)
WOW – we have LOTS of little pumpkins who have entered the contest – so fun! SO many, in fact, that my fancy schmancy polling software only lets me upload TEN and we have ELEVEN. So, here’s the thing – there are actually TWO polls as a result of this. The pumpkin numbers were assigned as they were received, so they are in no particular order. Simply click on the pumpkin of your choice and let the games begin! Now, keep in mind that because there are two separate polls, the % for each pumpkin may not reflect the ACTUAL number of votes. The pumpkin with the MOST votes will win the big prize. Oh dear, I hope this didn’t get confusing. Darn that pumpkin #11 – if he wasn’t so cute…
You will see we have pumpkin apparel, walks through pumpkins, pumpkin hairdos, athletic pumpkins – you name it! You guys sure are creative! Even a pumpkin pup. I had hoped to have at least one husband pumpkin, but maybe someone will submit that for the cupid contest. hmmm. There’s an idea! MOST IMPORTANTLY – BE SURE TO CLICK CAST YOUR VOTE at the bottom of the poll for your vote to count.
Glad I gave you all an extension – the pumpkin pics are rolling in! I’m getting them ready to upload to the blog so the voting can begin. Not sure if I will finish tonight or tomorrow, but keep your eyes here for LOTS of great contestants. I’m really glad I don’t vote because the competition is fierce!
One thing is for sure though, you all love your little pumpkins! (And I do too – thanks for playing!)
You still have 40 minutes to go!

My, weren’t those words we would have loved to have heard way back when we when were up through the wee hours of the night, working so hard on the school project/paper/etc that we had procrastinated for? Imagine needing "just one more day" to study for that big exam that you had blown off preparing for because the weather was just TOO NICE to be inside with your nose in a book. Well, it’s not going to help the grade you got in Modern Lit Junior year, but I am granting you an extension to get your photos in for the "my little pumpkin" contest.
I got a few desperate pleas "my picture is coming, really" so I figured, what the heck, Mrs. Rodgers never let us have another day, so I may as well make up for lost time now
SO, all of you procrastinators, WEDNESDAY, the 24th, 9PM is your new deadline. And since I have given you more time, I am expecting at least B+ work!
Hope you all enjoyed a BEAUTIFULLY SPECTACULAR weekend. Is it in fact October?
to celebrate the launch of my website, I have decided to have a fun contest for my blog readers! I was completely inspired with the idea at Homestead Gardens on Sunday, when I saw SO MANY children being photographed by their parents. The common spot, of course, was the pumpkin patch! So, here’s the scoop…
Now for the REALLY fun part – the entry that is chosen by "the people" as the winner will win a FREE SESSION and a $150 print credit from Heather Crowder Photography! Yippee! That’s worth pulling out the camera and snapping a pic of your "little pumpkin"!
and the fine print…the winning session must take place within 30 miles of Annapolis or travel fees will apply. Winning session must be scheduled by December 31st. One entry per child, or if more than one child appears in the photo, one entry per family.
And if you haven’t been to the fall festival at Homestead Gardens with your children – you must go! It’s a ball – straw maze, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, pony rides, the best caramel popcorn I have ever eaten and of course the pumpkin train which I hope my little pumpkin is big enough to ride next year!
I am SO excited to announce that my website is LIVE! I have been been working hard getting it ready to launch and now that it’s finally finished I guess this means I can spend the wee hours of the night sleeping, instead of sitting in front of the computer. Yes, family, I am done with the site now, I am yours again
Of course, I will regularly be adding photos as I continue working with more wonderful children and families.
Please be sure to visit www.heathercrowder.com and let me know what you think! Sign up for my newsletter (on the main page) which will be sent from time to time, highlighting special sessions and other good stuff.
I hope to see LOTS of entries in the "my little pumpkin" contest which is kicking off today – read more about it on the blog!
Thanks to EVERYONE for ALL of your support!

My site is so close to launching that I just can’t wait! Looks like it will be live sometime on Monday! Be sure to check it out www.heathercrowder.com and let me know what you think! To celebrate I think I am going to do a fun contest of some sort, so be sure to check the blog for details! Enjoy what looks like a beautiful weekend!
There is only one thing that makes me smile more than a child laughing. And that, is a family laughing. I love that fact that I get to stand by, and watch a family interact with one another, laughing, having fun, and doing my best to capture their moments together. This little one wasn’t really sure what to make of me on her own, but in the arms of the people that love her most, it quickly became obvious that there is a lotta love going on here! The fact that we were all poolside in the middle of October made it an even better day and I was only sorry I didn’t have my suit with me. Oh, and I would be remiss in not mentioning THOSE CURLS, those GORGEOUS curls! Is it wrong to have curl envy of a 3 year old? If only I had had hair like that as a kid, it may have saved me from a very unfortunate perm in the 2nd grade.
Oh dear – I just realized I didn’t publish this post!
On the heels of lovely party celebrating Ubuntu, I was very fortunate to be a guest at another wonderful fundraiser recently. Hope for the Bay, held at the Charthouse, was organized and sponsored by Fieldstone Marketing of Annapolis. The event — in an effort to benefit and raise awareness for the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation — brought together Fieldstone retailers from around the region to celebrate and support the efforts of the foundation, which has raised over $6 million for the fight against breast cancer.
Guest speakers included Mayor Ellen Moyer, VB executives, and Dr. Susan Clare of Indiana University; guests were treated to a wonderful lunch and received a Vera Bradley gift bag to help support the efforts of the foundation back at their stores. The event was capped off with a live auction and the results of a silent auction with guests bidding against an array of fabulous items! Vera Bradley has a fun collection of products, "pink elephants" with proceeds from the line going directly to the fight against breast cancer. I am so happy to have been included in this wonderful event and have linked to the foundation, as October is breast cancer awareness month!
One last reminder, visit the Breast Cancer site where a simple click helps to provide mammograms to women in need.
