annapolis Photographer . . . Phew! We are burning the midnight oil over here (and mid day oil, and afternoon oil, and evening oil – you get the idea).  To be honest, I didn’t think I could be busier than I was last fall, but somehow I am, and doing my best to keep the wheels on the bus.  A bug got the best of me for a few days, (I’ve never been so glad to be told I had bronchitis, because I feared you-know-what), but I’m back up to speed and ready to charge into the last few weeks of this crazy fall portrait season!

Now, onto this fabulous family – I had a great time “playing” with them when clearly the weather was a wee bit warmer than it is now…I only wish I had video for you of the little guy driving that mustang.  Words (and pictures for that matter) just don’t do it justice.  Their Mom really wanted to see their personalities reflected in their images, and without a doubt, we captured exactly that.  Each of them, so unique and talented in their own way – big sis and her mad lacrosse skills, the race car driver, the lacrosse-loving entrepreneur and the cartwheeling-tree-climbing little sister with the beautiful smile.

Thanks for such a fun morning – I can’t wait to see your portraits on your walls!

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . first word that comes to mind when I look at the images from this just because session from a few weeks ago.  I had a wonderful time with this lovely woman and wish I could describe the view of the water from her home; living in the top of a lighthouse would be about the only way to make it better!  And I have to mention that the artwork behind her was a gift from the artist…her SON-IN-LAW!

Of course I love all of my wee little subjects, but it is a nice treat, from time to time to photograph adults who want to mark a special time in their lives!

go Ravens | baltimore photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . I used to think I had the best job in the world . . . and still think back to all of the great trips, over so many years, with so many wonderful people.  Well, now I’m pretty sure that I DO have the best job in the world, and it’s the people that I spend my time with that make it so.  If you’re “new” to my blog, then you haven’t “met” the Murrays, but if you’ve been reading for a while, then you know how much they mean to me.  “Special,” doesn’t even being to describe this family, and I feel so fortunate to have come to know them and call them my friends.

When I told Aimee, earlier this year, that I wanted to do a family session this spring, I don’t think either of us, would have imagined where we’d end up!  I wanted to do something really special, unique, and most of all memorable, and I’m pretty sure that in the end, we covered all of those bases.  I can’t think of a better place to photograph their little champions.

My crazy brainstorm?….Ravens Stadium…and that is EXACTLY where we had their session.  Thanks to my friend John Cornell for making it happen (and to all of the other folks who offered to help as well – you’re all angels and I speak for myself and the Murrays in telling you how grateful we are for your generosity)  John gave us a great tour of the facility and running out onto the field was quite an experience! Here are a few images from our morning at M & T Bank Stadium!  Do you not love that hand-off at the 50?

Sunday morning tv

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . Sunday morning was a LOT of fun!  We didn’t have to get up “too” early, and we arrived at WJZ just in time to see the start of the show.  Jessica & Tim were SO nice, and made things so easy and comfortable for me that my nervousness didn’t last long.  Seeing the inner-workings of the station, and the set was really neat, and different than what I expected.  If you didn’t see the show, here’s a CLIP.  I think that Morning Edition will be part of our Sunday morning routine, of course if we can convince the wee one that it’s more interesting than Elmo & co.

I’m so excited! | maryland photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . I have a little bit of news to share!  This Sunday, October 26th, I have been invited to appear on the WJZ-TV morning show!  WJZ channel 13, is the Baltimore CBS affiliate, and I’ll be spending a few minutes chatting with anchor Jessica Kartalija about my work and what I do!  The segment is scheduled to air between 8:30 and 9:00 am on Sunday (check back in case there is an update), and I hope to be able to upload a link afterwards, for my readers and clients who aren’t in our local viewing area.  That is, of course, unless I pull a Cindy Brady and see the little red light blinking on the camera and freeze :)   I’m sure some of you remember that episode!

Hope you can tune in!  And how about this little fella?  Of course, I must tell you that his excitement has nothing to do with my tv appearance, and ALL about the oreo cookies that we gave him just a moment before the shutter clicked! Love this image!

oh baby | baltimore photographer

annapolis photographer1 %kids photographer . . . see I told you there were newborns coming from every which way!  I swear I have been all over the beltway (Washington AND Baltimore), and spots in between, to photograph new arrivals over the past few weeks.  This guy put a little wrench in my schedule because he decided to come VERY early, but thank goodness he’s doing just fine!   And cute as can be to boot!  LOVE what his Mom has done with his room…oh to be that talented!

As a reminder, if you are a mommy-to-be and are interested in maternity portraits, and/or photographs of your newborn baby, please contact me asap so I can get you on the calendar!  This time of year is absolutely crazy, but I will always try to make room for the tiniest clients, and while I know they come when THEY are ready, I can at least know to expect them!
