. . . which one of them is cuter . . . what do you think? Baby brother is on the way ANY day – can you believe this Mommy is a week away from giving birth? Good genes. And cute jeans. And how much I love little girls that do cute things with their feet

. . . While a great number of my clients are from the Annapolis area, many people are surprised to know just how much I travel for sessions – Baltimore, DC & it’s suburbs, and one of my favorite places – Old Town Alexandria. Shooting in Old Town is a lot like downtown Annapolis with it’s unique and historic architecture, brick and cobblestone streets, and neat little alleys that offer beautiful light. Making this maternity photo session even more fun was the fact that it was a family session so I got to focus on the big-brother-to-be in addition to Mom and her growing belly! She was positively glowing, and you couldn’t knock the smile off of Dad’s face if you tried!
. . . this charming young woman sent me a heartfelt email about how she wanted to surprise her mom with portraits of the two of them before she left for school. The last one to leave the nest, she wanted her mom to have a memorable birthday and surprised her with a great dinner and then our just because session in downtown Annapolis. We had a great time and it was fun for me to see both the connection between them, and the independence and confidence of someone about to leave home and head off for college. I have no doubt she’ll make her mark at school, and with a smile that can seriously light up a room (and a couple of city blocks), she’ll stand out in the crowd!
. . . I couldn’t have asked for a better evening to photograph these beautiful expectant parents! Somehow, we dodged many nights of rain and managed to squeeze their session in on a spectacular day! I love love love shooting at this time of the day/evening – the light is golden and gentle – add a nice breeze and it’s summertime perfection. I’m glad we were able to get this session in when we did because their baby boy was born THREE days later! Early bird! I spent the morning with him today, and can’t wait to share more pictures of the entire family.
Could we have been more lucky with this back-drop? Anyone remember “cue the deer” from Chevy Chase’s funny farm? I digress…

. . . beginning Wednesday, February 25 and returning on Tuesday, March 3. We’re headed to warm, sunny weather and we can’t get there soon enough And while I just received some photos of my friend Werner’s recent trip to Wakatobi, as much as I would love to say that’s where we’re headed, in fact, we’re not even leaving the east coast. I do know we’ll get back there someday though! (hey Henrik, don’t you guys need me to go over and take some pictures of something?). I’ll be leaving my computer behind (wow, did I just say that?), and likely just traveling with the point and shoot camera. We are really looking forward to some fun family time together, and for my dive friends who still read the blog, yes, I’m packing the sunscreen
. . . I was lucky enough to photograph this family during our unseasonably warm spell, a couple of weeks ago and it was GREAT. So nice to be outside, so nice to let the fresh air in, and best of all I we didn’t have to bundle this gorgeous momma-to-be up, which would have resulted in missing out on her beautiful bump! I had a great time with this family, and can’t wait for them to see their entire gallery. I know this little guy can’t WAIT to be a big brother and I can’t wait to meet his little sibling. (oh, and to the Dad-to-be, I am sorry you are not represented here…lots of great shots of you too but I want to get something posted to beat baby’s arrival)
. . . this box was just delivered, batteries are charging and I CAN’T WAIT to start playing This thing has been in UPS’s hands in Baltimore since TUESDAY when it was SUPPOSED to be delivered! Argh! My poor family…subjected to me following them around with my new toy….hmmm….I guess there are always the neighbors 
. . . Right after I posted that maternity pic, I got an email from Little Lamb Shop (I get their e-newsletter) and they are having a big diaper bag sale. What timing, huh? Consider this a public service announcement for those who don’t have one yet, or for those who are too embarrassed to carry the tattered and torn and stained one that you already have need a new one. Oh, looks like I need to get in there. Or maybe you just want something new and fun for fall.
. . . TIMES TWO! Yup, that’s right, there are two little babies in that belly and thank goodness I got these shots because they are going to arrive at anytime! I will be posting more from this gorgeous mom-to-be’s session, but wanted to be sure I got at least one up before the boys get here. Ok, fellas, the coast is clear, I got my pics, you can come out now Oh, wait, I’m not sure if your momma is REALLY ready, but then, are you ever REALLY ready for twin boys? hee hee.
Yet again, these beautiful pregnant women leave me asking why I didn’t look like THAT when I was pregnant! Must be something in the water, I have had a little run on maternity photo sessions and inquiries here lately…hmmm…what was going on last winter?
Ok, back to work.
. . . that’s right . . . THIS baby is already here! I didn’t even get a chance to blog their maternity session and he decided to make an early appearance! Glad we scheduled when we did! This Mom & Dad (no longer M & D to-be) have done a beautiful job renovating their home in Baltimore, so we tried to incorporate a little “city” as well as some of the unique features of their home, in their images. I can’t wait to meet the new addition, and I know they are also eagerly waiting having him home!
I’m not sure if she’s smiling in this shot because of the baby, or because SHE created that beautiful work of art behind her! There was NO way I was leaving without incorporating that into the gallery, but let me tell you, what it took to make this happen was NOT easy :-O
